7082 BOP

The T3 Model 7082 spherical blowout preventer (BOP) is designed for surface installations on land and platform applications. These BOPs are compact and seal reliably on almost any shape or size pipe, casing or tool in the wellbore, as well as complete shut off (CSO) of the open bore. They provide positive pressure control for stripping drill pipe into and out of the hole.

As with the Model 7022 model, the T3 Model 7082 BOP is designed to use 1500 psi maximum hydraulic pressure to close the sealing element on objects in the wellbore. Closing action begins when hydraulic fluid is pumped into the area below the piston. This BOP is designed and manufactured per API 16A specifications, the overall height is less than the other annular BOP designs, and the element can be changed without contaminating the hydraulic operating system.
